55 Event Catering Solutions were employed by DP World Tour in 2024 to lead and consult with an inexperienced event hospitality catering team for the delivery of the Genesis Scottish Open, one of the premier events on the European Tour.
Our role having worked on the event for over 25 years, was to oversee the new catering team, ensuring a seamless delivery and maintaining the exceptional service expected at the event with its complex logistics, and differing stakeholders.
Whilst on site we took the on the additional role of reviewing and managing the food trucks, bars and public catering provision as guest experience was a key driver for the event.
Brief description of work:
Pre event liaising and assisting with planning and logistics , using network of contacts and event knowledge to smooth the path for the new team. Sharing knowledge of catering at golf tournaments, (55 Event Catering Solutions have operated at over 130 tournaments across 30 Championship courses and are one of the most experienced teams within the UK).
Anticipating issues problems and proactively managing the catering team to ensure seamless delivery.
Navigating the team through the challenges of multiple stakeholders, including the client, the venue, the title sponsor, Michelin starred guest chefs and brand activation agencies.
Acted as the key liaison between DP World Tour, the new catering team, suppliers, and event staff to align operational goals.
Additional on site role to overview public catering food trucks and bars auditing financials, ensuring compliance and ensuing that service to the public spectators exceeded expectations
Chaired daily event debriefs reviewing service, operation and discussing key points for the following days hospitality.
