After a lengthy tender process with both organiser and Scottish Government involvement Amadeus were awarded the contract for the 2019 Solheim Cup on the 25th of June 2019. The event started 11 weeks later the 9th of September. This was a tight turn around for an event of this scale but one that we took on and surpassed all expectations.
Pre event liaising and assisting with planning and logistics , using network of contacts and event knowledge to smooth the path for the new team. Sharing knowledge of catering at golf tournaments, (55 Event Catering Solutions have operated at over 130 tournaments across 30 Championship courses and are one of the most experienced teams within the UK).
The late award of contract meant we had missed contractor meetings and had to get up to speed quickly with the site and the schedules. This meant a lot of information was needed very quickly by other contractors to ensure they had power, water, and the full logistical spec we needed in was place.
As an additional challenge we had to build and work through one of the rainiest early Septembers for a long time. The site was challenging in parts, and we had to make contingency for taking care of the course, the grounds, our compounds and our staff during this time.
